In the years before founding Segars Engineering, Dave Segars compiled 21 years of design and management experience in virtually every major industrial, commercial and governmental sector. While studying civil engineering at Georgia Tech, Dave joined the ROTC, where he earned Airborne and Ranger badges before becoming a Platoon Leader in Germany for the US Army Corps of Engineers. After completing his ROTC scholarship obligation, he was then recruited by CRS Sirrine, a top-five engineering firm, where he spent several years in the industrial division in both project management and structural engineering.
He then spent four years as the Plant Engineer for Polymer Group Incorporated (now Berry Global), managing a $100 million project while he obtained a Masters in Business Administration from JMU. This was followed by a stint as a Construction Engineer and Process Engineer for DuPont’s Lycra and BCF Nylon divisions.
As president of Segars Engineering, Dave Segars provides oversight, project management and design review for all engineering work. With over 25 years of design and construction administration experience, he is specifically skilled in the areas of project management, planning, permitting, scheduling, structural engineering, and overall architectural and engineering management.
